Notes after a session: observations before conclusions
В мені · VMENI · Updated · 2 min read
After a session, a short note can describe what happened, what you noticed and what you want next. You do not need to grade yourself by minutes or produce a positive conclusion. The note may stay private and need not be sent to the facilitator.
Three useful questions
What actually happened? Which sensations and emotions did I notice? What would I repeat, change or leave undecided? Separate “I found concentrating difficult” from “perhaps I did not try hard enough”: the second is an interpretation.
A small example
“It was a group meeting. I asked not to be filmed and finished before the general discussion. I want to keep the no-camera arrangement; I will decide about repeating later.” This is an illustrative note, not a required result.
What a journal does not replace
A wound, persistent pain or worsening health should not be treated only as a symbolic process; seek appropriate help. Do not publish other people’s stories alongside your note. Your own record usually needs only the details useful to you.
Fact, impression and interpretation
Fact: “I asked for a pause and received it.” Impression: “I felt calmer.” Interpretation: “Perhaps not being rushed helped.” These are distinct and need no other participants’ names, timing or complete account of the evening.
Must I write anything?
No. No entry does not diminish the experience. You may return later or keep one sentence about the next decision. Consider privacy and saving when using a journal. Only a selected organisational point, not the whole private entry, need be sent as feedback.
A note can inform one choice
Keep no filming, ask a question first next time, or choose not to repeat. Not every observation needs a task. Separate assumptions about others from facts and do not publish them as conclusions. A timing disagreement can be reported without sharing your whole journal.
